Grant of Probate
Preparing the application to the Probate Registry for the grant of probate or grant of letters of administration is often the most difficult part of dealing with an estate. If done incorrectly, there may be delay or future tax implications. Our experts would be happy to assist in preparing the relevant paperwork required to obtain the grant.
You would need to provide us with the date of death balances of all assets and liabilities of your loved one and we would extract the grant on your behalf and then send it to you to enable you to close the accounts and finalise the administration of the estate.
If a full inheritance tax account isn’t required, usually where the gross estate is less than £325,000 or £1 million if it is all passing to the surviving spouse our fees would be £595 plus VAT and Probate Disbursements.
If a full inheritance tax account is required, usually where the estate is more than £325,000 or spouse exemption does not apply or if the estate includes foreign property, trust assets or substantial gifts in the 7 years before death, our fees would be £1000 plus VAT. Our experts can give you an exact fixed fee after an initial consultation.
