Can I apply for probate in the UK if I live abroad?

This depends on whether the estate you are dealing with is in the UK or overseas. This makes a difference when applying for probate, and dealing with estate administration process. This is due to the fact that estate administration differs from country to country, even in the UK. England and Wales share the same process, but Scotland and Northern Ireland processes are different.
